Pavel Datsyuk Recommends Bill Peters as KHL Coach

Former Calgary Flames' Head Coach, Bill Peters, was fired in November of 2019 after an investigation into allegations of racial harassment and physical violence. He is now being considered for a position in the KHL, all thanks to NHL legend, Pavel Datsyuk.

Peters was fired after Akim Aliu came forward about his use of racist profanities during the 2009-10 AHL season. This incident was confirmed by several witnesses. Furthermore, there have been reports of Peters engaging in physical altercations with players during his tenure with the Carolina Hurricanes.

He is now being considered for a head coaching position with Yekaterinburg of the KHL. Pavel Datsyuk is a member of this team and has reportedly recommended Peters for the job. They first met when Peters was an assistant coach of the Detroit Red Wings. It appears as if they are going to be working together once again.
