Trade Bait: If the Leafs trade William Nylander, 3 deals to consider
The Toronto Maple Leafs are going to be pressed up against the salary cap next season. Although there's a chance GM, Kyle Dubas moves one of his 'secondary' forwards such as Andreas Johnsson or Kasperi Kapanen, there's an outside chance, given the right deal, that the Leafs move William Nylander. For this reason, he's on the hook as today's Trade Bait.
Willy has been a polarizing figure in Toronto, ever since he arrived on the scene as a highly touted top-pick. Nylander's contract dispute last season did him no good, as he ended up working out for too many months in a row and came back absolutely jacked, and not in great 'hockey shape'. Regardless, this season he's been on fire, as Nylander currently sits with 59 points in 68 games, and is only 3 points away from setting a career high. To the St Louis Blues for Colton Parayko:
The deal that will never go away. The Leafs would save roughly $1.5 million for the next two seasons, and then would be on the hook to resign the big RHD from western Canada. Parayko would be the perfect fit for Morgan Rielly which is why his name as been linked to Toronto for what seems like 3 years. With the Blues having to make a tough choice on Alex Pietrangelo, if they do bring back their captain, expect Parayko to be moved, and one destination could be Toronto.
To the Dallas Stars for John Klingberg:
The Leafs would save over $2 million per year with this deal, and Klingberg fits the bill for the blue and white. Offensive, skates well, RHD, and has a couple of years left on his deal. Dallas would love to add Nylander to their aging top-6, and with the west coast/east coast aspect, this deal is perhaps the most likely to happen. Keep an eye on these two teams next off season.

Lastly, the Leafs would love to move Nylander to the Edmonton Oilers for Darnell Nurse:
While the Oilers will want more in this deal, Kyle Dubas may budge. He's Nurse's biggest fan and the two have quite the ties, which include the Sault St Marie Greyhounds. The Leafs would save money, but may have to include Travis Dermott in the deal. This one feels like it would be a risky move for both teams, and sometimes that's ok.
Other names that continue to be tied to a Nylander move are Matt Dumba, Ryan Ellis, Rasmus Ristolainen, Damon Severson, and Josh Manson.
