Video: Here's why Tyson Barrie wanted no part of the Tampa Bay Lightning
Have you ever played a sport and your Dad was the coach? What about playing a sport and your Dad owns the team? This added pressure and family dynamic is not for everyone, and if you ask the Maple Leafs, Tyson Barrie, it certainly wasn't for him during his draft year of 2009.

Barrie ended up getting selected with the 64th pick, however, if his Dad had it his way, Barrie would have been off the board at 52.
On Instagram live, Tyson Barrie said at his draft, his dad called him from the draft floor & told him they were about to pick and he was next on their list. Tyson begged him not to take him, saying he’d never live it down. Dad complied and he went to COL a few picks later.— Platinum Seat Ghosts (@3rdPeriodSuits) April 17, 2020
