Why do some people want the Maple Leafs to sign a wifebeater?
Recently, I came across an article regarding the Toronto Maple Leafs and their plans next season for the right-side of their defense. This person felt the answer for the Leafs needs, is Slava Voynov. Yes, that Slava Voynov who beat his wife while playing for the Kings.
While life is about second chances, sometimes it's not. And listen, I can confirm through credible sources tied to the Maple Leafs, there's ZERO chance the Leafs sign Slava Voynov, so let's put these rumors to bed right now. Even with Voynov enjoying his best season in the KHL with 41 points in 59 games, if you think for a second, the Brendan Shanahan led Maple Leafs are going to open their cheque-book to Voynov, you should probably leave your credentials at the door.

Regardless of the cap issues presented to Kyle Dubas, signing a player who was suspended by the NHL for beating and choking his wife, goes against all of the organizations values. Imagine asking Hayley Wickenheiser about his development, or Barb Underhill about his skating?
Slava Voynov is not signing with the Maple Leafs. End of story.
