Breaking: AHL has canceled the season and playoffs

After Friday's board of governors call, the AHL has voted unanimously to cancel the rest of the regular season and Calder Cup playoffs.

The AHL Board of Governors has voted to cancel the remainder of the 2019-20 AHL regular season and the 2020 Calder Cup Playoffs due to the ongoing COVID-19 public health crisis.

Now, the million dollar question is what does the NHL do? The AHL does not have the type of funds and resources like the NHL, so it was only a matter of time before the right decision was made for their operations. So now, we wait to hear from Gary Bettman and the rest of the NHL's BOG's.

An announcement is expected this week on when informal work outs will be opening, or, the news will be horrible, and the season will be cancelled.
