Breaking News: Gary Bettman making major announcement today

At last, we will have some concrete answers, as it's being reported NHL commissioner, Gary Bettman will make a formal announcement at 4:30pm est, on the NHL/NHLPA's approval of the 24-team playoff format.

There's been a ton of speculation on how exactly everything will be played out, however, from the information we have gathered, it appears the top-4 teams in each conference will play against each other in a 3 game round robin to seed for the 2nd round. Meanwhile, the other 16 teams involved will be playing a best-of-five series to advance from their 1st round.
