Done Deal: Maple Leafs sign the best defenseman in Europe
Chalk up another win in Europe for the Maple Leafs, as the team announced on Monday they have signed defenseman, Mikko Lehtonen.
Widely considered the best defenseman overseas, Lehtonen signed a one-year entry level deal, like the recent contract of Alexander Barabanov and Ilya Mikheyev from a season before.
Lehtonen also has represented Finland at multiple World Championships and Olympics, and has also captured gold with his country's World Junior team back in 2014.
The Maple Leafs are hopeful Lehtonen will jump right into the mix next season, and it appears, from a ton of hockey insiders, Lehtonen will be a stud.
Kudos to Kyle Dubas on winning Europe this season.
