Gary Bettman confirms he's never considered canceling the season

All this back and forth has NHL fans on the edge of their seat, anticipating a return to play from the best hockey league in the world. As society works through another stage of the pandemic, NHL commissioner, Gary Bettman wanted everyone to know, he's never contemplating canceling the season.

Bettman joined a virtual town hall for the San Jose Sharks and was very open and honest when it came to returning to play:
I believe that if the right time comes, and the right circumstances, based on all of the options that we're considering and our ability to execute them, we'll get this season done. I don't want to sound Pollyanna, but canceling is too easy a solution. That means you stop working hard to do all of the things that we're doing, and I ultimately believe that there will be an opportunity. States are reopening, cities are reopening, and if we do the right things, I think we'll be able to finish the season.
Multiple reports from major networks have confirmed the league is ready and willing to jump into the playoffs immediately. A 24-team tournament seems to be the consensus. While many weeks ago Connor McDavid, among others, voiced their displeasure and concern about entering directly into the playoffs, citing rust and injuries as major concerns. Meanwhile, Sidney Crosby came out and supported the playoff structure being considered, but also voiced concern about heading right into the playoffs. It's curious to see what the players agree to in the long run.

For now, Bettman and his team are working hard to get things in place for training camps to start at the end of the month. He's confident the season will be finished, and a Stanley Cup winner will be crowned. Who ends up being King, is anyone's guess.
