Leon Draisaitl Wins 2019-2020 Art Ross Trophy
Gary Bettman announced today that the NHL regular season is officially over and when the NHL resumes play it will be in a 24 team expanded playoff format. With the official conclusion of the regular season, Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl is the Art Ross Trophy winner for the 2019-2020.
Draisaitl outpaced the NHL offensively all season and finished the year with 110 points in 67 games played, he also was in the running for the Rocket Richard Trophy with 43 goals before the shut down. Draisaitl is the first German born player to win the Art Ross, he finished 13 points ahead of former Art Ross winner and teammate Connor McDavid. Draisaitl is now the third Oiler to win the award, with Wayne Gretzky and Connor McDavid being the other two. The Oilers have the two best players in the NHL and may be the favorites to take home the Stanley Cup in the 24 team sprint to the finish.
