Maple Leafs GM says putting asterisk on playoffs 'frankly stupid'

Maple Leafs GM, Kyle Dubas was busy on Wednesday, making his rounds with his local media outlets regarding the NHL's 24-team playoff format. Dubas was also very candid about his feelings toward anyone who feels this year's Stanley Cup winner not holding the same merit.

Here's the Leafs GM's response to those who feel this year is different, and the winner should have an asterisk beside their championship:
And if people want to - whoever wins in it, whichever one of the 24 teams wins it - I think anybody that takes a shot that it's illegitimate, especially when 85% of the season or whatever the exact percentage of the season was already played, I think that's, frankly, stupid. And that's probably the best way I can put it.
To note, if the Maple Leafs win this year's Stanley Cup, they will have had to win 19 games. Normally during the playoffs, a team needs to win 16 games to win the Cup.

Dubas also went on to talk about his team's health, their top-prospect Nick Robertson being invited to playoff camp, and any and everything related to the NHL's comeback. For the complete interview, click here.
