NY Rangers sign top goalie prospect, Tyler Wall

Tyler Wall is the perfect name for a goaltender, and if you ask the New York Rangers, he's the perfect fit for the future. The Rangers announced they have signed Wall to an entry-level contract for next season.

Wall, 22, is considered one of the best goalies currently not in the NHL. He was a 6th-round pick in the 2016 draft, and recently held a record of 18-8-6 at UMass Lowell. Wall and the River Hawks finished with a No.12 ranking after the season was canceled. His 2 shutouts, 2.10 gaa and .931 save % were impressive as ever.

The Rangers add Wall to two 24-year-olds, Alexander Georgiev and Igor Shesterkin. With Henrik Lundqvist having turned 38 recently, the Rangers are expected to either buy-out their long time 'King' in the off-season, or facilitate a trade by retaining a hefty chunk of his final year.

The Rangers will be a team to watch if you are able to make trades at the next NHL draft. If not at the draft, look for the Rangers to make some face-lifting moves next off-season.
