Rumor: Corey Crawford done in Chicago
The Chicago Blackhawks have a spotlight on them after abruptly letting go their President last week. The trade rumors have swirled regarding moves that were debated about last season and now it appears their direction is clear in the crease. According to sources close to Chicago's operations, Corey Crawford will likely not be back next season.
The 35-year-old, Montreal native has played his whole career in Chicago, winning multiple Stanley Cups and playing in over 500 games combined between the regular season and playoffs. Unfortunately, Crawford hasn't been able to stay healthy and his inconsistent status, has turned itself into inconsistent play. The Blackhawks are a team in transition at the moment, so bringing in some fresh blood in the crease is something the team could benefit from.

For Crawford, look for Montreal to potentially be an option on a one-year deal as a backup to Carey Price, along with the Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, and Anaheim Ducks. Teams that have goalie decisions to make such as the Pittsburgh Penguins and Vegas Golden Knights are also options, as they could see Crawford as a veteran backup with leadership qualities.
Regardless of where Crawford ends up, the writing is on the wall, and the goalie is being blown out of the Windy City.
