Rumor: Huge trade coming for the Chicago Blackhawks

As the NHL works out the final pieces of it's comeback, there's been a ton of chatter surrounding the Chicago Blackhawks recently firing their President. The media continues to try and get to the bottom of it as it appears there were some internal debates going on over the course of last season, the topic - trading Patrick Kane.

The 31-year-old has done everything for Chi-Town including scoring the GWG to win the Stanley Cup. However, the team has struggled over the past couple of seasons and the team might be considering moving Kane to free up some cap space and kick-start their rebuild. Doesn't sound like the best idea to me.

Belief is management was not on the same page and eventually someone had to go. Let's examine a few destinations in the case Kane does get moved.

What about these:

1. Montreal Canadiens for Carey Price? Talk about a blockbuster, two teams fill huge needs while making even bigger holes in their lineup. Sounds nice, makes sense financially, but doubtful.

2. Dallas Stars for Jamie Benn? This would change the playing styles of both teams pretty quickly, and they are hardly even two years apart. Benn is younger and cheaper, so Dallas would likely have to add a little sweetener to the deal. Seguin and Kane, that would be fun.

3. Buffalo Sabres for Sam Reinhart, Victor Olofsson and Colin Miller. The Hawks would fill some decent holes with this trade and be a deeper team, while Kane gets to head back home. Kane and Eichel, holy sh*t that would be fun to watch.

Keep an eye on the Blackhawks next off-season to see what direction they take with a new boss in town. One things for sure at this moment, we have no idea when next off-season will be.
