San Jose Sharks announce massive signing
The San Jose Sharks have found some competition for Martin Jones as the team announced they have locked up the best goaltender in Russia, Alexei Melnichuk.
Last season in the KHL, Melnichuk finished with a 1.68 GAA and a .930 save %. Melnichuk, 21, has spent his entire career in Russian hockey. He also went on to post 4 shutouts last season. The 6-foot-1 Melnichuk has the size and versatility to be able to succeed at the NHL level. The Sharks have been desperate for some saves, so look for the team to give Melnichuk a look as soon as next season.
Several teams missed out on Melnichuk's services as it's believed as many teams as 8 made offers.

Alexei Melnichuk (Goalie, 21 y/o, 1.68 GAA, .930 save %) may be the most talented undrafted netminder since Bobrovsky. He played all year with VGK's Ivan Morozov and would instantly become the top goalie prospect in the VGK system.
