Another 15 players test positive for Covid-19
Since June 8th, a total of 26 players have tested positive for Covid-19. What does this mean for the NHL as they seek to resume play this summer?
In the past few weeks there have been many noteworthy announcements regarding the NHL and Covid-19. Star players have been infected, facilities have been forced to temporarily close, now this. Of roughly 250 players tested, 26 of them have been positive.
If 10% of tested players are positive, what does this mean for the NHL? What does this mean for the 2020 Playoffs. Theoretically, if players were to begin a "cohort quarantine" today, we could expect the virus to run rampant. What level of positive testing is acceptable? How are players supposed to feel safe? There are certainly many questions that need to be answered before the league can consider inviting players back to training camp.
The NHL says 15 out of more than 250 players in the league's Phase 2 return-to-play protocol have tested positive for COVID-19, while an additional 11 players have tested positive outside of the Phase 2 protocol.https://t.co/2ncmhTscti— Sportsnet (@Sportsnet) June 29, 2020
