Arizona Coyotes make NHL history with leadership change

The Arizona Coyotes should change their name to the Trailblazers as the desert dogs announced a new voice to lead their franchise and for the first time in NHL history, a team's CEO is Latino. Xavier A. Gutierrez was named the president, CEO, and alternate governor on Monday, and the historic moment will in some way shape or form, head to the hall-of-fame in the very near future.

With a background in business, investments, and a creative leadership style, Gutierrez will be given the keys to the franchise with warranted expectations from owner, Alex Meruelo. Meruelo made history himself, becoming the first Hispanic majority owner in 2019.

Working along side his Hispanic supervisor and one of the bright minds in hockey, Gutierrez adds to a foundation in the desert that should only get stronger. Their clear vision for long-term stability and a underrated roster, the 'Yotes certainly have a chance to make some noise in Nashville, once the current 'pandemic pause' is lifted.

Regardless of when the games restart, Xavier A. Gutierrez will be ready to take on the result of some uncertain times. He prepared, he's ready to go, and he's a proud Latino.
