Devils' Nico Hischier serving Military time during NHL's Covid break
Nico Hischier, like many current NHLers, needed a place to work out and stay busy during the NHL's pandemic pause, turns out the native of Switzerland found the perfect spot....the Military.
While Hischier admits they haven't done too much 'army stuff', he did make good on his obligation as a young man in Switzerland to serve for his country. Normal stints would be a couple weeks at a time, however, Hischier will stay in combat boots as long as he can before the NHL's return.

Here's more from the former #1 overall pick on serving in the Military:
One reason I did it was I needed to stay in shape,” said Hischier as per the Associated Press. “I didn’t know where to go because gyms weren’t open and I couldn’t just work out at home. I just didn’t have the tools for a good workout there. For a couple weeks it worked, but I felt like I needed to go somewhere to be prepared when we had to go back and play again. Then the army came and they had a great solution because where I’m working right now, that’s a great building. They have everything there you need.
