Hockey isn't important in the US according to ESPN analyst
According to ESPN's Max Kellerman, hockey isn't important and there is no less than 20,000 fans in each city that has an organization.
According to Statista, the NHL TV ratings in the United States have risen over the past few years.

You know the old joke is every town has 20,000 hockey fans and they all have season tickets. So the arenas are always sold out, but the TV ratings don't do anything.If you don't know who the analyst is, Kellerman is the same guy that said that Connor McGregor wouldn't land a punch on Floyd Mayweather.
