NHL set to announce Hub Cities!
Here we go, the long awaited confirmation appears to be coming down the pipe from the NHL, and as early as today. The initial thought was the two hub cities would be named on Friday of last week, however, it was delayed for undisclosed reasons. Wait no longer, the announcement is coming by no later than Tuesday.

In the ongoing saga of NHL Hub cities, we may get a formal announcement from the NHL/NHLPA as early as today. If not today, then tomorrow. Stop me if you’ve heard that before. But, for now anyway, that’s where things are at.— Bob McKenzie (@TSNBobMcKenzie) June 29, 2020
Las Vegas and Toronto appear to remain frontrunners, but that comes with the obligatory caution: A week ago today, Las Vegas and Vancouver were the frontrunners and Vancouver, of course, is no longer involved in the process. Until an announcement is formal, it’s a fluid process.— Bob McKenzie (@TSNBobMcKenzie) June 29, 2020
Hockey is about to take another step towards hitting the ice and boy does it feel good!Coronavirus case counts in Nevada have spiked. NHL/NHLPA did more due diligence on sites over weekend. If Vegas is formally chosen, I believe it’s due in large part to Vegas bid being the best “locked down” or “protected” bubble of the six remaining candidates.— Bob McKenzie (@TSNBobMcKenzie) June 29, 2020
