Trade Rumor: Colin Miller getting shopped by Buffalo

Big changes are coming in Buffalo, and even some of the players are admitting they can feel the trade winds in the air. For the likes of Colin Miller, his first season in Buffalo was a grind, and it turns out, he could be a 'one and done'.

NHL sources have indicated to NHLTR, the Buffalo Sabres are open to moving Colin Miller and his $3.875 million dollar contract for the next 2 seasons. Miller who was coming off back to back solid years in Vegas with 70 points over 147 games, wasn't able to mustard much in Buffalo. A lousy 11 points in 51 games, and with the likes of Brandon Montour, Rasmus Ristolainen and Henri Jokiharju all vying for spots on the right side, moving Miller makes a ton of sense for the club.

His contract is still manageable, if you're another team looking to upgrade the right-side of their defense. Under $4 million with another 2 years of control is worth trading for, it's just the production that you're worried about. Look for teams like the Toronto Maple Leafs, Vancouver Canucks and Pittsburgh Penguins come calling, once playoff teams are able to make moves.

Colin Miller is worth trading for. His contract is affordable, he's on the right side of thirty (27), and he's a right-shot defenseman, which are as hard as ever to come by. Buffalo has some decisions to make on how they are going to keep Jack Eichel happy, and moving Miller for some help up front could be one way.

Miller has potential to put up 50 points, and he has a history of laying guys out. A Sabre or not, Miller can bring the heat....
