BREAKING: Mike Babcock has been hired!
The Seattle Kraken will have to wait to get their hands on Mike Babcock, as the former NHL head coach has signed on as an advisor with the University of Vermont.
Volunteering his time makes a ton of sense as Babcock is the highest paid coach in history and is still on the books for the Leafs. Why would he want to give that up for a college gig? He doesn't and as we have been reporting for months, it's likely after this stint, he makes his way to the west coast and leads Seattle into their inaugural season.— Nick Kypreos (@RealKyper) July 29, 2020
Babcock is not expected to be behind the @UVMmhockey bench at any time. He also will not be paid as long as @MapleLeafs continue to pay him.
Babcock reunites with head coach Todd Woodcroft after winning the Gold medal together in the 2004 World Championship.
Time and time again, Nick Kypreos is the Mike Babcock story breaker.
