Calder Trophy Finalists Have Been Announced

Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson won the Calder Trophy last season. There is an opportunity for a Canucks player to win again, which would make them the first teammates to win back-to-back since the Boston Bruins' Bobby Orr and Derek Sanderson in 1967-68.

Calder Trophy Finalists

1. Cale Makar (Colorado Avalanche)
12 goals, 38 assists, 50 points, 57 games played.

2. Quinn Hughes (Vancouver Canucks)
8 goals, 45 assists, 53 points, 68 games played.

3. Dominik Kubalik (Chicago Blackhawks)
30 goals, 15 assists, 46 points, 68 games played.

Cale Makar and Quinn Hughes are certainly the favorites to win the Calder Trophy. They have both surpassed decades old records for point production by defenceman in their rookie season. The main difference is the amount of games played between the two. Makar has very similar point totals but played 11 less games; will this make the difference?
