Detroit Red Wings To Sign Jacob Markström
The Detroit Red Wings must address their goaltending situation. Jimmy Howard and Johnathan Bernier have been the tandem for the last two seasons, but this will no longer be the case! Can General Manager Steve Yzerman sign the star goaltender?
Jimmy Howard has been the Red Wings' starting goaltender for well over a decade. However, his 2-23-2 record, 4.2 GAA, and 0.882 SV percentage is completely abysmal. It is unlikely that Howard will be resigned after this season.
Instead, there are rumors that Vancouver Canucks goaltender Jacob Markström will sign with the Red Wings. His 23-16-2 record, 2.75 GAA, and 0.918 SV percentage would a significant upgrade. He is reportedly interested in remaining a member of the Canucks, but the Brock Boeser debacle may prevent Markstrom from resigning with the team.
