It doesn't look good for Matt Murray in Pittsburgh

The Pittsburgh Penguins have a couple of weeks to get ready to face the Montreal Canadiens in the play-in round of this year's playoffs. While the Habs are being questioned about tanking for the top lottery selection, the Pens are all-in on another Stanley Cup run. One question....who starts in the crease for the Pens?

It's been widely reported that the team won't be able to keep both Matt Murray and Tristan Jarry after this season as both are heading for restricted free-agency. The Pens don't want to spend a ton of money they don't really have on two starting goaltenders, so it's expected Murray, the two-time Cup winner, who will be more expensive to sign, is going to be the odd man out. And after his performance in training camp so far, the writing could be on the wall.

Murray and half of his Penguins teammates suited up for a scrimmage against the other half of the roster, and let's just say it didn't go as planned for the goaltender. Murray let in 7 goals in the scrimmage, meanwhile Jarry has look absolutely solid since day one of camp.

While there's still time to turn it around and an exhibition game to play, expect to see Jarry in the pipes for game 1, but certainly on a short leash. Sometimes having two capable tenders isn't easy for a coach, so we'll have to see how Mike Sullivan handles this if things don't go as planned.

So far for Murray, they haven't and it could lead to ending his tenure in Pittsburgh.
