Jeremy Roenick is suing NBC over 'Anti-Straight Discrimination'

Jeremy Roenick has always been someone who beats to their own drum. A hockey legend on the ice and a massive personality off of it, the latter actually is the reason he's in the mess that he is. Roenick was fired a few months ago after an interview with Spittin' Chiclets podcast. Roenick told stories he shouldn't have regarding a female colleague and NBC canned him immediately. Then it gets weird.

Roenick is suing NBC now, for 'Anti-Straight Discrimination' after two other NBC employees, who said some things they shouldn't have were not fired, and it turns out one of the employees is a gay man.

Here's more on the story below:
Roenick also argues he was wrongfully fired despite making a public apology, and Tappen told him "she was not offended by his comments and but was pressured by both NBC and a woman's rights organization to make a statement condemning Roenick's comments", according to the court documents. He's suing for unspecified damages, but Roenick says his firing cost him lucrative contracts with different partners and public-appearance opportunities, which usually pay around $10,000. Roenick was hired as an NBC hockey analyst in 2010, shortly after his 20-year NHL career ended.
We shall wait and see how this plays out in court, but I have to admit, it doesn't look good for JR.
