New Jersey Devils To Hire New Coach
The New Jersey Devils participated in this season's "coaching carousel" when they fired Head Coach John Hynes. Many assumed Alain Nasreddine would have the interim tag removed and become the head coach, but this is apparently not the case.
Lindy Ruff is the front runner to become the next head coach of the New Jersey Devils. He coached the Buffalo Sabres from 1997- 2013. He then coached the Dallas Stars from 2013-2017. He has been the Assistant Coach of the New York Rangers since this time, but he is looking to become a bench boss once again.
He has brought his teams to the playoffs in 10 of 18 seasons. Most notably, he brought the Sabres to the 1999 Stanley Cup Final where they were defeated by the Dallas Stars in controversial "no goal" fashion. Perhaps the Devils will allow Ruff make a comeback change the direction of the organization.
