Phil Kessel reveals why he's been struggling in Arizona

Phil Kessel has become a journeyman over the course of his 14-year-career, and Phil currently occupies the wing in the desert in Arizona. A once two-time 37 goal scorer, Kessel hasn't found his game as a Coyote and it appears there's been a reason.

Surprisingly quite the iron-man, Kessel has always been as dependable as they come to be in the lineup each and every night. His questionable style of limiting play in the corners and avoiding hits, may have something to do with the streak, but one thing you can't question is the two-time Cup champion's offensive touch. Unfortunately, for Coyotes' fans they haven't seen the 'real Phil' and he's ready to change that:

Obviously, I had a tough year," the forward said after skating with teammates at Gila River Arena on Tuesday. "I had, I think it's probably my most injuries I've had is this year, but that's no excuse. It's one of those years. Obviously, I'm going to look to never have that again. I've never had a year like that, so I'm looking to bounce back. This is a good time to get it started again.

With only 38 points in 70 games, Kessel expects more out of himself. With Arizona gearing up for the playoffs, the young Arizona squad will look to Kessel for production and experience. With 77 points in 87 playoff games and two Cups, the Coyotes are in good hands.
