Rumor: Dale Weise done in Montreal in bizarre fashion

Dale Weise was in the lineup on Tuesday night when the Montreal Canadiens took on the Toronto Maple Leafs in their playoff exhibition game. It turns out Weise may have another team on his mind other than Montreal.

There are multiple reports surfacing that Weise has indeed found a new home for next season, after the Habs forward was up and done and all over the Canadiens lineup in 2019/2020.

Weise played over 20 games in the AHL this year and while making $2.35 million, certainly not ideal for GM, Marc Bergevin. Weise appears headed for Europe next season.

Is this the first time a player has agreed to a deal with another team while playing in the playoffs with his current team? We knew Marc Bergevin was a seller at the deadline and the Habs wanted no-part of this playoff tournament, but this is next level.
