Rumor: Detroit sending trade offer to Vancouver
The Detroit Red Wings are looking at every possibility they can to try and upgrade their goaltending, as Jimmy Howard and Jonny Bernier are not cutting it. The team is young, sure, but it underachieved in the mind of GM, Stevie Yzerman and a big reason was their production from the crease. The Wings have their eyes peeled onto the Vancouver Canucks, waiting to see their next move.
According to one western conference executive, these two teams make the perfect partners:

The Wings have the cap space and the Canucks have a need. It's not likely the Canucks can keep both goalies so expect the Wings to either sign Markstrom or trade for Demko, as either of the two would be an upgrade for the Wings. Considering Demko is only 24, you have to believe the Wings prefer him, and could get him in a deal for a defenseman plus. Start with Madison Bowey and go up.
