Rumor: Jack Eichel Target Of Blockbuster Trade

There have been trade rumors surrounding several members of the Buffalo Sabres for some time. Speculation regarding Jack Eichel's future in Buffalo began circulating after he expressed his displeasure with the current direction of the organization. He is now reportedly on the way out.

Team captain, Jack Eichel will be entering into his 3rd year of an 8 year contract. His annual cap-hit is $10 million, but the receiving team has the cap space to accommodate this wonderful addition. They currently have $8.775 million available, not including the players who are expected to become UFA's after this season.

According to Joe Dibiase of Buffalo radio station WGR550, Jack Eichel is expected to be traded to the New Jersey Devils in exchange for Jack Hughes, Nico Hischier, and a first round pick. This would surely be a blockbuster trade, but it doesn't seem entirely preposterous?
