Rumor: Mike Babcock To Coach Seattle Kraken
This season has seen the number of fired coaches reach an unprecedented level. There may be a number of teams who release their coach after the playoffs, but the Seattle Kraken are keen on getting first picks from the available talent pool.
Mike Babock is the front runner to coach the Kraken in their inaugural season, but there are still other names floating around. Peter Laviolette and Gerard Gallant are very much in the mix, according to TSN's Darren Dreger.
Babcock is said to be the front runner because of his decorated resume, namely Olympic Gold Medals and a Stanley Cup. However, Gallant has a successful resume with expansion teams. He coached the Vegas Golden Knights and brought them to the Stanley Cup Final in their inaugural season.
The team is likely to select a coach sooner than later. Who will it be?
