Some Players Can Leave The Bubble?!?
The NHL presented a plan to the Canadian government that would guarantee the safety of players, staff, and the general public. Though there are very few reasons why anyone would be authorized to breach quarantine, their return could result with mass spread of Covid-19.
Players will be granted leave for medical reasons or extenuating personal circumstances. Although this seems plausible, the return protocols seem wildly irresponsible. This protocol allows players to return quickly, but it also exposes the entire group to Covid-19.
Players must only quarantine for a minimum of 4 days pending 4 negative tests. The general public is expected to quarantine for 14 days upon entry into Canada. It seems that this protocol threatens the safety and protection of the cohort quarantine.
