2020 NHL Mock Draft: Top 10 Picks

The biggest question of the 2020 NHL Draft was who would win the Alexis Lafreniere sweepstakes. Since the New York Rangers won the draft lottery, we can now focus our attention on the top 10 draft picks. Who is going where?

Here are the results from Sportsnet's 2020 NHL Mock Draft

1.  New York Rangers: Alexis Lafreniere, LW
    He's the first player to win CHL player of the year twice since Sidney Crosby.
2.  Los Angeles Kings: Tim Stutzle, LW
   He has torn up the DEL in Germany and was amazing in the World Junior Championship.
3. Ottawa Senators: Quinton Byfield, C
   Byfield is a large skilled forward who plays down the middle. He was a man among boys in the OHL.
4. Detroit Red Wings: Cole Perfetti, LW
   Perfetti is a Michigan kid who played for the Saginaw Spirit. He arguably has the best hockey IQ in this draft class.
5. Ottawa Senators: Jake Sanderson, D
   A responsible defensive defenceman is what Ottawa truly needs. He will be the first D-man taken in the draft because he can shut plays down before they start.
6. Anaheim Ducks: Jamie Drysdale, D
   Anaheim has only drafted 2 defenseman since the 2015 draft, but Drysdale is worth splurging on. He's a world class skater and an elite puck mover.
7. New Jersey Devils: Marco Rossi, C
   Rossi is an elite player who's work ethic will allow him to continue to develop and adapt his game as he enters the NHL.
8. Buffalo Sabres: Alexander Holtz, RW
   New GM Kevyn Adams has said that he wants to take his scouting team in a new direction. This pick will give them the goal scoring support that Jack Eichel needs.
9. Minnesota Wild: Lukas Raymond, LW
   This draft is loaded with forwards. He is a natural goal scorer, but he was not given the proper opportunity to rack up points in the SHL.
10. Winnipeg Jets: Jack Quinn, RW
    He put up 50 goals in Junior. He's a 200 foot player, but he is clearly just hitting his stride. This could be one of those picks you look back at 5-10 years later as an absolute steal.
