BREAKING: Thursday and Friday's NHL playoffs games have been postponed
Players in the bubble are telling me they’re not playing tonight. But we await official announcement from the NHL and NHLPA.

Regardless of what your stance is on the matter, the players have decided to use their platform. Can confirm the #NHL will postpone games today and tomorrow.

There's a lot of back and forth going on right now, but it sounds like tomorrow's NHL games could be postponed as well as the ones scheduled for tonight.

Spoke to @Dreamer_Aliu78 who tells me it was the players who initiated the discussion w/ @TheOfficialHDA last night. Scott Laughton, James van Riemsdyk & Kevin Shattenkirk all reached out to Chris Stewart, looking for advice on what to do. It led to today's large #NHL group call

Important to note that it was players in the bubble reaching out to Kane and Dumba to come on their call. Today has all the feeling of a players-led initiative. https://t.co/bagLL7UZhB

Exactly. The PLAYERS took a stand today, they stepped up. Proud of my fellow nhl PLAYERS for their action. https://t.co/IKcsvcoUbl

Interesting that a Canadian team (Vancouver) led charge on today’s cancels.

Still some confusion as of 3:52pm as the NHL and NHLPA are still on a call...."These boycotts do absolutely nothing!!"

-screams the frustrated sports fan who is now engaged in a discussion about Black Lives Matter that would not have occurred otherwise
Still no official word on tomorrow. Original sense was today’s postponed games would be played tomorrow and everything moves one day. Some player concern over the brevity of a 1 day/night postponement.

Expect an announcement on plans for the #StanleyCupPlayoff games within an hour. I’m told each of the 8 teams will have 1 game postponed.
