Bryan Little's Future Is Uncertain After Freak Injury

Bryan Little has not played since November 5th, 2019, after being hit in the head by a teammate's slap shot. The Winnipeg Jets announced in February that he would miss the remainder of the season after having surgery to repair a perforated eardrum. His future is now clouded with uncertainty.

This injury came just 2 weeks after returning to the lineup from a concussion. Little was hit directly in the ear, but he does not wear ear guards. There was absolutely no protection to cushion the blow to his head. If he does make a full recovery and returns to the NHL, he will definitely be wearing ear guards.
"Some of the things the doctors were saying scared me quite a bit, and they still do. The biggest thing I'm thinking about through this is having a healthy and long life and being cognitively 'all there' when this is all over. Until I am told there's not a lot of huge risk coming back, it's kind of waiting and seeing."
There is no rush for Little to make a decision on his career trajectory, but a full recovery is the most important thing for him at this time.
