Connor McDavid is pissed off with the Oilers
Connor McDavid is sick and tired of losing. He's tired of having all the expectations in the world for his team to succeed, just for the Oilers to fall flat on their faces. This year was no different, regardless if there was a 4-month 'pandemic pause' it still stings just as much. One way or another, changes are coming!
For McDavid, his personality includes a quiet demeanor and someone who can be a touch reserve at times. Nothing wrong with that.
In their latest media availability, Connor was sure to be as candid as ever when asked to reflect on the Oilers recent early exit, and let's just say the frustration is mounting.
No real good answer, explanation or excuse, not sure why it wasn't there. Teams that win are teams that defend, and we haven't figured that out yet.....Obviously, we're missing something.
When asked about his own defensive game which was even chirped from his own GM, the Oilers captain replied - 'Personally, could be better.'.
The Edmonton Oilers are a team to watch this off season, as the moves out of western Canada could be starting any day now. With some good prospects on the horizon, one top-prospect who doesn't want to play in Edmonton, and a team that has some obvious holes, expect GM, Ken Holland to be as active as anyone this off season.
Hopefully, that will make McDavid happy and sets the Oilers up for success.
