Devan Dubnyk has played his last game in Minnesota
The Minnesota Wild are on the outside looking into the NHL's bubble as the team was eliminated by the Vancouver Canucks in the play-in round of the 2020 playoffs. It didn't take long for Wild GM, Bill Guerin to voice his displeasure about his club and he was quick to point out his current goaltending situation is horrible.
Talk about being put on blast, Guerin didn't hold back on Dubnyk who was 12-15-2, with a .890 save % and 3.35 gaa. Dubnyk is entering the final year of his deal paying him just over $4 million.I think we are a good team, but there definitely have to be changes. We haven't had success here, things need to get better, that's just the way it is. I was disappointed in the goaltender this year. Devan had an off year and it needs to be better. Can those two turn it around for you next year? No, I can't say that. If we don't get the feeling we are going to be better, then we're going to improve it. So I can't promise anyone a spot.
It's no secret his coach lost faith in him, and now the GM. Devan Dubnyk is done in Minny.
