Mark Scheifele Responds To "Dirty" Matt Tkachuk Incident

The Winnipeg Jets struggled against the Calgary Flames during the qualifying round of the playoffs. They were plagued with injuries to their top players, including Mark Scheifele who's leg was sliced by Matt Tkachuk's skate blade. Check this out!

Jets' coach Paul Maurice was extremely upset and stated that he believed it was a dirty play and that Tkachuk injured Scheifele on purpose. The entire hockey world supported Tkachuk and condemned Maurice's comments, and Mark Scheifele has followed suit.
Here is what he sad to say.

"The way my parents raised me is you forgive everyone and that's all you can do. You wish the best on every person."

Mark Scheifele says he wishes it wouldn't have happened but he doesn't hold onto hard feelings towards Matthew Tkachuk.

"I'm very lucky that it wasn't worse than it was. Initially I thought I tore my Achilles and was done for six months."

Scheifele said he was happy to hear he didn't need surgery or anything. He said Tkachuk reached out and the two talked about the play.
