Matthew Tkachuk Could Miss Significant Time With Injury
Matthew Tkachuk is an integral part of the Calgary Flames lineup. He has the ability to score goals and make big plays while maintaining a hard and pest like aspect to his game. Tkachuk was sandwiched by Dallas Stars Jamie Benn and Jamie Oleksiak, which resulted with him leaving for the remainder of the 3rd period.
Tkachuk was in some discomfort earlier in the game, but it seems to be unrelated to the injury that removed him from the game. Jamie Benn's stick came up off of the draw and seemingly connected with his groin area. Tkachuk immediately went to the dressing room, returned for a shift, then returned to the room.

It is unclear what exactly happened to Tkachuk before he left the game permanently. He seemed to be wobbly and off balance after being sandwiched by Benn and Oleksiak, which is why some believe this to be a concussion related injury. It remains doubtful that this information will be disclosed and if Tkachuk is not in the lineup for game 3, he will simply be listed as "unfit to play".
