Red Wings top prospect headed to Europe

The Detroit Red Wings have announced that forward Filip Zadina has been loaned to the Czech hockey league where he will suit up for HC Ocelari Trinec.

The 20-year-old Zadina was selected 6th overall in the 2018 draft and is expected to get some major minutes in the Czech, while the NHL continues to work it's way through the 2019/2020 playoffs. With the push back of the start of the 2020-2021 season, expect to hear more names starting the year in Europe to stay in game shape.

Zadina had 15 points in 28 games this season for the Wings and looks to build on that for next season.
