Report: Arizona Coyotes exploring Oliver Ekman-Larsson trade
The Arizona Coyotes will look much different next season after a first-round exit to the hands of the Colorado Avalanche. While Taylor Hall is not expected to re-sign and the team tries to build around a young-core, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman believes Oliver Ekman-Larsson is a name currently being discussed.
Friedman had this to say regarding the Coyotes captain:
One of the story lines that’s going to be interesting to watch there with the Coyotes and the offseason is the future of Oliver Ekman-Larsson. He’s their captain, he’s signed to a long term deal, he’s got seven years left (on his deal), he’s got a no-move clause. It could come down to what ownership wants to do too, what the new GM thinks too. I’ve just been told it’s a story to keep an eye on…
Huge news out of the desert, as there would be a ton of teams interested. It would all come down to where OEL wants to play, thanks to his NMC, so things could get interesting in Arizona. For now, they will say goodbye to Taylor Hall and pay their fine for cheating at the draft.
