Rumor: Maple Leafs and Oilers closing in on 1-for-1 trade!

It didn't take long for the Maple Leafs and Oilers to get to work on next season as it's being rumored the two teams have already held trade discussions regarding a one-for-one trade. The deal would see LW Andreas Johnsson head to Edmonton in exchange for RHD Adam Larsson.

Johnsson, who managed to get back into one 'playoff' game after a long layoff from knee surgery is built on speed and tenacity, with a work ethic that is second to none. The Swedish winger they call 'Mango' also can find the back of the net, scoring 20 goals last year in his first full season in the league. Johnsson will be 26 when next season starts, and he's got a ticket left on him at $3.4 million for three more years.

Larsson, on the other hand, is known for being the guy who got traded for Taylor Hall. His inconsistent tendencies get him in trouble at times with his coaching staff, but as a right-handed d-man, who can play with an edge, Larsson is still a hot commodity around the league. The Maple Leafs have a huge hole on the right side of their defense with Tyson Barrie headed for free-agency.

These two teams line up perfectly for being able to fill each other's needs, and several insiders see a deal happening, and happening soon. The Oilers can replace Larsson with the likes of Evan Bouchard, while the Leafs can replace Johnsson's minutes with Nick Robertson.

Sounds like a match made in heaven to me..and several others.
