William Nylander Has Played His Last Game In A Maple Leafs Jersey

On paper, the Toronto Maple Leafs arguably have the best offense in the league. However, they have spent a significant amount of their salary cap on players who have not performed in the playoffs. Additionally, the Maple Leafs' back end has struggled, which is why Michael Traikos of the Sudbury Star believes William Nylander will be traded for a strong blueliner.

Kyle Dubas will be very busy during this offseason. With the salary cap freezing and likely losing Tyson Barrie to free agency, he will be forced to inject a prospect into the line-up, or free up some cap space via trade.
"It's time to break up the core. It's time to trade Nylander." - Michael Traikos
Traikos believes that a strong defensemen like  Seth Jones or Zach Werenski will help the Maple Leafs finally win a playoff series. However, you need a value trade piece and cap space to do so. This is where Nylander fits into the deal.
