Details revealed about ongoing DISASTER in Arizona!
What a season for the Arizona Coyotes. From losing several draft picks because of a draft combine scandal, to the GM leaving the team the day before the playoffs, and now this. Another horrible look for the Coyotes as the team was late paying their players and staff.
A tough go for a professional sports franchise that is apparently doing fine and dandy if you ask Commissioner, Gary Bettman.
With new owner Alex Meruelo only being on board for about a year now, you have to wonder how long it will be before the team is up for sale again. Word is the ex-GM, John Chayka, yeah him, the guy who walked out on the team as they were boarding a flight to Edmonton, was the one who convinced Meruelo to buy the team. Now he's gone and Meruelo is pissed, so he then decides to sit on his wallet?
According to multiple sources, the Arizona Coyotes have been late on paying at least a few players their contractually-stipulated signing bonuses on time. My understanding is these have since been resolved, but it has raised some concerns.

Multiple sources have confirmed that the Coyotes were late on multiple player signing bonuses: OEL ($4M due Sept. 1), Antti Raanta ($2M due Sept. 1), Jason Demers ($1M due Sept. 1), Tyler Steenbergen ($43,750 due on July 15). All have since been paid.

Needless to say, if you make decent money playing for Arizona, you're on the trading block. The team is in full rebuild mode and wants to recoup the draft picks they lost for illegally testing players.
The Arizona Coyotes, ladies and gentlemen:
