Hockey insider sees potential trade between Carolina and Winnipeg
Patrik Laine of the Winnipeg Jets loves to score goals. He's been lighting the lamp since day one in the league, but it's the 'complete game' his head coach Paul Maurice would love for Laine to work on. Earlier this week, Laine's name came up on trade lists all over the media world and Wednesday, Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic, let us know what it may take to get Laine out of Winnipeg.
LeBrun reports the Carolina Hurricanes have a ton of interest in Laine and pairing him with his close buddy, Sebastian Aho would make for a deadly duo.
LeBrun feels it would take defenseman Brett Pesce and center Vincent Trocheck to even get Winnipeg's attention, as they are in desperate need of d-men and a #2 line center.
Expect these talks to continue as we close in on next month's draft, which is setting up to be one of the busiest we have ever seen on the trade market.
Thanks flat salary cap, us at NHLTR appreciate you.
