Maple Leafs to name a new assistant coach
The Toronto Maple Leafs have been interviewing over the past few weeks for their vacant assistant coach position and it turns out they have landed on a surprise candidate!
The newest member of the Toronto Maple Leafs coaching staff is expected to be Manny Malhotra.
This was the logical next step in Malhotra's journey toward becoming an NHL head coach — getting experience behind the bench.

I spoke to him about that a few weeks ago: https://t.co/kvrXqB1eHt

Malhotra beat out Bruce Boudreau for the position, who was linked to coming back to the Leafs long after his playing days.
This move will be announced officially before the weekend.
We're as surprised as you.
