Oilers reject Penguins latest trade offer
The Pittsburgh Penguins and the Edmonton Oilers have held trade discussions regarding goaltender, Matt Murray. It appears those talks have started and ended all in the same breath, after the Penguins demands for Murray were brought forward.
According to Pierre LeBrun of the Athletic, the Penguins asked for a 1st-round-pick for the netminder and Oilers GM, Ken Holland wanted no part letting go of their draft pick.
The Oilers and Penguins have talked about Matt Murray, I'm told, but as far as I can tell, asking price too rich for Edmonton at this point (first-round pick?). I think Edmonton will be patient in its goalie search. And the Oil hasn't ruled out bringing back Mike Smith, either

The Pens continue to discuss Murray with the likes of the Flames, Leafs, Hurricanes and Avalanche. It's only a matter of time before he's dealt.
