Rumor: Marc-Andre Fleury heading back to Pittsburgh

The Vegas Golden Knights enjoyed themselves some goaltending controversy right in the thick of this year's playoffs. Intentional or not, Marc-Andre Fleury's agent sent out a cryptic tweet and it basically officially started the Robin Lehner era in Vegas. MAF won't be back to the bright lights of Vegas next season, and if he had his wish, he would be going back to familiar territory.

According to a Golden Knights executive, Fleury's wish list includes, being bought out by Vegas, leaving him a free man to sign a cheap deal back with the Penguins, where it all began for the Flower.

With Sid, Malkin and company having a couple of years left to contend and a GM who is trying to pull off some of the biggest moves in hockey, if Jim Rutherford can land MAF back in the fold, this would be considered a home run for the Hall-of-Fame GM.

With 2 years left on his deal, Vegas certainly prefers a straight up trade in an MAF deal so they can free up as much cap space as possible.

Vegas has their eyes set out on some big fish this offseason and need to get creative to make it happen. Meanwhile, the Flower is trying to make his back to his old buddies in Pittsburgh.
