Rumor: Seattle Kraken Have Selected Head Coach For Inaugural Season
The Seattle Kraken are scheduled to hit the ice at the beginning of the 2021-22 NHL season. They have recently announced their team name, logo, and GM. Now, it appears that they have found their desired head coach.
According to Pierre LeBrun as reported in The Athletic, the Kraken are expected to sign former Vegas Golden Knight head coach, Gerard Gallant. He coached the Golden Knights in their inaugural season where they played in the Stanley Cup Final.
He has lived the expansion experience and seems to be a perfect fit for this franchise. Moreover, LeBrun speculates that GM Ron Francis and Gallant have had a conversation over the past few months. The teams' management and executives are nearly all selected, which allows the team to begin preparing for their expansion draft at the end of next season.
