Rumor: Wild shopping Matt Dumba, 3 possible destinations

Minnesota Wild GM Bill Guerin has said that he wants to upgrade his skill level amongst his forwards. Before the trade deadline earlier this year rumors were swirling around a pair of defenders, Jonas Brodin and Matt Dumba. It has been recently reported in Minnesota that the Wild are exploring their options in trading the 26-year old right shot Matt Dumba. Any trade involving Dumba would sure to be a blockbuster and with a flat cap for next season there is more than one good option available.

The Winnipeg Jets lost their entire right side of their defence heading into last season. The Jets lost Byfuglien, Trouba and Chiarot that left a massive hole on Winnipeg's back end. It has been reported that the Jets have made Nic Ehlers available for the right price, maybe Dumba would be that price for the Jets. Ehlers would a top line player in the state of hockey.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have been searching for a top-4 defenceman for what seems like a decade. The playoffs were a clear indication that the Leafs need to upgrade their defence and William Nylander's name has popped up as the most likely big contract that gets moved to address the glaring hole on the Leafs' right side. Just like Ehlers, Nylander would step right into the top line and powerplay for the Wild.

The Montreal Canadiens are always looking to reshape their roster every off season it seems. This year it is Max Domi's turn to be the headliner of every rumor in Montreal. If the rumors are true that Domi wants out of Montreal, then a one for one deal with the Wild could be great for both teams. Domi's style of play in very similar to how Wild GM Bill Guerin used to play, they both play on the edge with high skill. Who will make the first big trade to set off the powder keg that this off season is sure to be?
